Product and Warranty Litigation
Abstract:
Is a collision scene all that it seems? Are there driver/ vehicle/scene interaction factors that could account for anything that has happened?
This presentation will cover some of the new vehicle technologies available to the consumer, and relate these features to what happens before, during, and after a crash. Vehicle Stability, adaptive cruise control, night vision, lane departure warning and other systems will be discussed.
Bio
Bill has been a member of the General Motors of Canada Legal Staff since 1989 and is based in Oshawa, Ontario. After a stint as the Senior Product Investigator, he is currently the Manager of Product and Warranty Litigation. Bill is responsible for the forensic investigation and inspection of vehicle product allegations for GMCL. This also includes being a witness at trial, as well as testifying for the Crown (State) Prosecutor in criminal matters. Bill also oversees vehicle fire investigations for insurance subrogations. Training has also been provided to various Police agencies and reconstruction associations on New Vehicle Technologies, Brake Systems, Airbag Systems, and Event Data Recorders within the airbag Sensing Diagnostic Module.
