Automobile Collisions Cause Analysis
Jerry Eubanks has been involved in the investigation/reconstruction of traffic collisions
for more than 20 years. For two years, 1976 - Feb 1978 Mr. Eubanks was a reserve
police officer and for seven years he worked as a regular and traffic police officer for the
City of San Diego. Mr. Eubanks assisted in the development and instruction of a 40-
hour basic and 40-hour advanced investigation courses. Mr. Eubanks has taught
Pedestrian Accident Reconstruction courses at Boise State University, The Canadian
Police College and between 1990-2001 he was an adjunct instructor for the Texas
Engineering Extension Service, Texas A&M University System. In 2002, he started
teaching for Collision Safety Institute (CSI) out of California. Mr. Eubanks has coauthored
eight SAE papers, in which three have dealt in the area of pedestrians and
one in bicycle collision investigation/reconstruction. Mr. Eubanks has also authored two
books1 entitled Pedestrian Accident Reconstruction and Pedestrian Accident
Reconstruction and Litigation through Lawyers and Judges Publishing Company2. Mr.
Eubanks’ books Vol 1 is out of print Vol 2 is now out of hard copy but available CD’s
along with a video tape of 82 crash tests. Mr. Eubanks has conducted more than 1220
crash tests. Of these crash tests 417 have involved pedestrian and over 122 have
involved bicycle impacts.
